What is NeoGraft?
At Park Avenue Medical Spa, we use the revolutionary NeoGraft Automated Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Implantation Hair Transplant System to give you a beautiful head of natural hair without discomfort or pain. It’s safe, painless, and leaves no scars.
FUE is a minimally-invasive microsurgical procedure that harvests hair from your own body, gently removing the follicles individually and transplanting them to the balding scalp using a hand-held instrument and without scalpels or stitches. For treatment of a receding hairline, hairs can be harvested from the back of the head. But when hair in the occipital region of your head is not available, our team can also harvest hair from other areas of your body (like your back, chest or legs).
NeoGraft is quick and allows you to return to your normal activities in just 1-2 days. The NeoGraft method is automated with a motor that can harvest 600-900 FUEs per hour, which means that the process is not only safe and painless, but also incredibly fast.
The NeoGraft device uses suction to extract follicles one-by-one and place them in the recipient site painlessly. No surgery, and no scars.

How It Works
NeoGraft works by automating the hair removal, placement, and implantation process. In traditional hair transplants, a doctor uses a scalpel to remove large strips from the back of the scalp, but NeoGraft provides a much less painful and efficient alternative. The procedure typically lasts between six and eight hours, during which the patient is awake and comfortable under local anesthesia.
NeoGraft allows doctors to remove each hair follicle without creating a scalpel incision. Dr. Tchelebi extracts hair follicles from the donor area with a suction unit attached to the hand-held NeoGraft instrument, which makes for a gentle, pain-free process. Follicles are usually extracted from the back of the head, but they can also be taken from the body if the scalp is not a viable donor site.
The follicles are then placed in a cool bed of saline, and Dr. Tchelebi inserts the collected follicles one-by-one into the recipient site. Dr. Tchelebi always aims to use hair similar in texture and appearance to the hair that is thinning in order to assure the most natural results possible.
The Neograft technique is highly technical, but a natural appearance requires a personal touch and deep understanding of what makes people feel most attractive and comfortable in their skin.
Because of this, Dr. Tchelebi works with each patient to determine the position of the hairline by analyzing the proportions between the forehead and the middle of the face. She’s trained and certified in Medical Aesthetics, and her experience helps her to consider factors such as:
- how the hairline best frames the face
- how the hairline complements facial features
- location of the upper forehead border

Who is a Candidate for NeoGraft?

NeoGraft is a hair restoration solution for both men and women suffering from hair loss in the scalp, eyebrows, facial area, and chest. The procedure is suitable for people who have lost hair due to a number of different causes, the most common being androgenic hair thinning (also known as male/female-pattern hair loss). Patients who suffered from endocrine disorders or who underwent chemotherapy or radiotherapy can be candidates for this procedure.

Anca E. Tchelebi-Moscatello, M.D. has decades worth of experience not only in anti-aging and rejuvenation, but also oncology and radiology. While practicing as a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist in New York, Dr. Tchelebi became increasingly interested in the physical and psychological effects of aging. She decided to change her focus, and became trained and certified in medical aesthetics and mesotherapy in both France and the United States.
Dr. Tchelebi trained in the Neograft procedure during her internship in Paris, France, where it was first invented at Medicamat, the leader in automated hair transplant. Through this valuable experience, she was able to become an expert in Neograft before it even arrived to the United States. In that sense, she has been a leader in introducing the procedure to the US.
Dr. Anca Tchelebi, MD has undergone advanced training in the NeoGraft hair transplant system. She also specializes in cosmetic dermatology.
An active member of the Academy of Cosmetic Physicians, the American Academy of Medical Aesthetics, The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Academy of Mesotherapy, Dr. Tchelebi-Moscatello is also a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
